Color Specifications: Standard ink colors are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black plus Pantone Solid Coated colors for coated paper and Pantone Solid Uncoated colors for uncoated paper. If Pantone colors are not used, ad will be treated and billed as Process color. Process color can only be used on the Front.

Type and Rule Width Requirements: All positive type must be 4 points or larger. Reverse type: 6 points or larger. All positive rules must be 1/2 pt or larger. Reverse rules should be 1 pt. or larger.

Screens: Screens over 95% may appear as solid. Graduated screens should go no lower than 3%.

Electronic Submission Requirements: PDF (Adobe Acrobat). All text must be converted to outlines. Pantone Spot colors must be retained in PDF. Click here to view the recommended Distiller settings to create a properly formatted PDF for "Ads That Stick!"


About Electronic Imaging and File Formats

Not all computer systems are compatible. Only specific types of electronic file formats are acceptable for use by the St. Petersburg Times. The following is a list of formats that work:

Observe these guidelines when submitting ads electronically:

When submitting ads on CD-ROM or other electronic storage media, label the disk with the client's name, address and phone number.
Be sure all fonts, art and scans are provided on the disk. Make certain a hard copy of the disk contents is provided. This will enable us to determine that all of the art, fonts and text have been included.
